This course is designed to develop a viable knowledge in building a Comprehensive Church Security Plan Template. The Precepts of Security Protection Team(s) development for the Officials and the Congregants. Policy and Procedure Development, Security Assessments of Edifice Exterior and Interior.

Course Objectives:

1. Review Ministries in the Midst of Violence, (Statistical Review) from 1999 thru 2015.

2. View a Comprehensive Presentation and Observe Various Assaults on Houses of Worship.

3. Discuss Conclusions Drawn from these Active Shooter / Assault Incidents.

4. Discuss General Precepts of Executive / Dignitary Protection / Security Protection.

5. Discuss The Security Team (Mind Set /Training Roles & Responsibilities / Implementation).

6. Recognizing the Threat / Types of Threats. (KIMs Games).

7. Discuss and Understand Why a House of Worship Overview and Zone Defense is Practical (Assignments).

8.  Discuss Risk Assessments Internal / External, Physical Security (Assignments).

9. The Law of Self Defense, Defense of Others, and Deadly Force in South Carolina.

10. Church Security SOP Template and Organizational Chart. (Free Download to flash drive which can be manipulated to fit your organizational structure).

Sep 20    Berkeley County Historical Society Meeting, Cameras In the Sky Over Berk. County
Join the Historical Society and local writer and historian, Dr. Norman Walsh for an aerial photography and video of historical sites in Berkeley County. Dr. Walsh will transport you through the eyes of a "drone." Part One will include a recitation of a brief history of Santee Cooper (1) views of sites along the Tail Race Canal, (2) Flying over the remnants of Old Santee Canal at the Canal Park and (3) flying over Wadboo Creek and Gen. Francis Marion's last campsite on Wadboo Plantation. Public welcome, light refreshments will be served.

The manufacturing industry is one of the fastest growing employment sectors in the Lowcountry. This includes new jobs in Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Services, Software Development, and Information Technology. 

The Lowcountry Graduate Center is hosting an Open House on Monday, September 28th from 6 - 8 pm for individuals to learn about all of the manufacturing related graduate degrees that our state’s top universities offer right here in North Charleston.

Program representatives from Clemson University, the University of South Carolina and The Citadel with the College of Charleston will be present to talk about their graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, Project Management, and Computer Science and answer any questions you may have about how these degrees will help you advance your career.
