SLED Certified Concealed Weapon Permit Class. The class will consist, firearms and the law, handgun safety ,nomenclature and inspection, basic fundamentals of handgun shooting, range firing, handgun care and maintenance, home storage, personal security considerations, review and written examination. Fingerprint card processing, firearm range proficiency course fired. The complete package and mail off envelope will be issued at the completion of the class to be sent to SLED. (You may bring your lunch, snacks and beverages will be available).

Nov 14    Weekday on the Water - Sparkleberry Swamp Paddle
Take a long weekend and enjoy the beautiful CCC-built cabins at Poinsett State Park and the natural beauty of Sparkleberry Swamp from the seat of a kayak. Check-in Thursday after 3pm. Friday we will travel to Sparkleberry Swamp and take a guided kayak trip through the swamp. Check-out Saturday by 10am. Take full advantage of the park and program by extending your cabin stay before and/or after the program for only $50/night. Nov 22    2014 Tinsel Trot

Celebrate The Season presents the 2nd annual Tinsel Trot Holiday Fun Run/Walk at Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Kids from 1 to 92 are invited to take an evening run, walk, dash, dance or prance through the two-mile course that offers a "sneaker preview" of the Celebrate The Season Holiday Driving Tour.

 

This family-friendly event will feature a special guest appearance from Santa Claus, glow necklaces for all participants, and more. Children's activities and food will be offered this year, and costumes are encouraged. Youth groups are welcome, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Nov 22    NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course.
NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course. The course will cover parts and operation, ammunition, using the pistol safely, operating a pistol, cleaning, storing, and transporting a pistol. Also Range Firing instructing in shooting fundamentals and different shooting positions. A written test and certificate of completion. (You may bring your lunch, snacks and beverages will be available).
