For Immediate Release January 24, 2017 Contact: Roxanne Bishop- Old Santee Canal Park 843-899-5200/roxy.bishop@santeecooper.com Michael Coker- Berkeley County Museum 843-899-5101/info@berkeleymuseum.org Discovery Days Feb. 11 and 12, at Old Santee Canal Park, Berkeley County Museum Book lectures and author signings, indigo-dyeing and Lowcountry cooking demonstrations, fossils from the murky depths of the Cooper River, sweetgrass basket weaving, and a Colonial musket drill---it’s all part of the inaugural Discovery Days Feb. 11 and 12, at Old Santee Canal Park. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 each day for access to all events. Discovery Days event is a collaborative project of the Old Santee Canal and the Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center. The Berkeley County Historical Society is also opening their headquarters, a historic schoolhouse for programming and displays.
